Our Caregiver Recognition Program is used to recognize those caregivers who go above and beyond to meet the needs of our clients.  They are the hard-working, dedicated, compassionate staff that help us achieve our goal of providing Quality Care Beyond Compare and we are happy to give them the recognition they deserve.

Andre Thomas

2022 Caregiver of the Year

Congratulations to our 2022 Caregiver of the Year, Andre Thomas!! Andre was chosen for his exceptional reliability and kindness towards everybody he interacts with. His consistent care throughout the year has played a huge part in the Agency’s growth. We have heard nothing but great things about Andre and the care that he provides, his quality of care is truly beyond compare! Keep up the great work, Andre! We are so thankful to have you as a part of our team!

Stephanie Sanderson

February 2024 Caregiver of the Month

Stephanie was chosen for her professionalism, reliability, and willingness to help. She is always there to help when the office needs a shift covered and rarely calls out of her shifts. Stephanie has been a caregiver for 25 years and enjoys the fact that her job allows her to spend one on one time with her clients, she likes being able to sit and talk with them. In the future, Stephanie hopes to continue working as a caregiver for Access to Homecare as long as possible until it’s time for her to retire. In her spare time, she likes to be around her 5 grandkids. Thank you Stephanie for all of your hard work!

Sue Swartwood

January 2024 Caregiver of the Month

Sue is an extremely reliable and hard-working employee that is loved both by the office and her clients and their families. Sue has perfect attendance and is always willing to help the office either by staying late or picking up a shift to ensure her client is always cared for. She is always kind and respectful when dealing with the office staff and makes sure to keep them informed if her clients need anything along with communicating this with their families as well. Sue has been a caregiver for around 35 years and appreciates that it allows her to take care of the elderly. She enjoys her time with her clients and likes to play games with them, such as Skipbo, when she can. When their families come over, she enjoys spending time with them as well. Sue likes her job and plans on continuing to be a caregiver in the future until it is time for her to retire. She enjoys spending her spare time with her sons and grandchildren. Thank you, Sue! We appreciate everything you do for your clients!

Tamara Davis

December 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Tamara was chosen for her positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to help when needed. She is a great team member and role model for her other caregivers. She creates a great standard for a case that gives a foundation for others to build on. She is also very attentive with her clients and has previously gone out of her way to help other clients as well. Most of all, Tamara is constantly positive and has brought so much light into the lives of her clients. She has been a caregiver since 2010 and enjoys the fact that she can sit down and talk with her clients to learn about their life experiences, especially about their travels and what they used to do. Currently, Tamara likes to spend what free time she has with her 12 year old daughter, specifically traveling with her. She wants to keep focusing on her in the near future but later in life, she has considered studying Alzheimer’s and caring for those that suffer from it. Thank you, Tamara, for all that you do for your clients!

Chrissi Sagor

November 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Chrissi was chosen for her exceptional reliability, amazing care, and willingness to help when needed. Chrissi is very attentive and thorough with her clients and always ensures the office knows of any changes in their condition. She often goes above and beyond in her care by doing things like accompanying them to appointments and helping their family members if needed. She is a great example for her fellow caregivers and does what she can to ensure their success. Chrissi has been a caregiver for 25 years and loves the fact that she is able to help people that need it. She enjoys doing crafts with her clients and in her free time, she likes to cook for others since she went to school for culinary and pastry arts. In the future, Chrissi hopes to go back to school to become an RN. Thank you, Chrissi, for the great care you provide for your clients! We are lucky to have you on our team!

Carrie Ciampi

October 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Carrie was chosen for her dedication to her clients, as well as her outstanding dependability. She has had nearly perfect attendance since she started working at Access in 2019 and consistently picks up shifts. Carrie is a model employee and demonstrates a passion for helping improve her clients’ lives. She enjoys the fact that her job as a caregiver gives her the opportunity to help those in need and be there for them. She has been a caregiver for 6 years and is considering becoming a nurse in the future. In her free time, Carrie likes to spend time with her family, cook, and play bingo. Thank you, Carrie, for providing excellent care for your clients! We are so lucky to have you as a part of our team!

Hughnisha Pettiford

September 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Hughnisha was chosen for her exceptional reliability and willingness to pick up shifts, along with her ability to remain respectful and professional when dealing with difficult situations. She also does an excellent job at working with her coworkers to ensure household tasks are completed each shift. Hughnisha has been a caregiver for 4 years and enjoys that it gives her an opportunity to give back. She likes that she is able to have a positive impact on someone’s everyday life and know that she is making a difference. Hughnisha aspires to one day become a scheduler for the Access to Homecare office in Syracuse. When Hughnisha has spare time, she spends it relaxing with her kids or going on vacations, specifically to Florida and Myrtle Beach. Thank you, Hughnisha, we appreciate all your hard work! We are so happy to have you on our team!

Rosemary Dragone

August 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Rosemary was chosen for her flexibility with her schedule to accommodate for her client’s appointments. Rosemary is constantly encouraging her client to go out and has taken her to places like restaurants, the Harriet Tubman House, and Hoopes Park. Thanks to Rosemary’s efforts, her client is now well known within her community. Rosemary has been working for Access for a year but has been a caregiver for almost 60 years. In that time, she has worked for hospitals, the county, homecare agencies, and done private duty. Rosemary appreciates that this job allows her to work with the clients and that it helps her to stay active. In the future, she would like to be able to travel to California to visit her granddaughter. In her spare time, Rosemary enjoys going to the casino. Thank you, Rosemary, we appreciate everything you do for your clients.

Jennifer Killins

July 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Jennifer was chosen for how well she works with her coworkers and her outstanding reliability. She is a very dedicated caregiver, and her dedication has allowed her client to stay in her home. Jennifer is also an asset to the nursing department when new staff are brought into the client’s home for a meet and greet. She shows a lot of ownership to the case, she gets right up to make new staff feel comfortable and gives them tips/tricks to be successful with the case. Jennifer has been a caregiver for 5 years and loves assisting her clients with whatever they need and she wants to continue to provide excellent care for her clients. In her free time, she enjoys taking care of her 5 children and seeing her granddaughter. Thank you Jennifer for all your hard work! We are grateful to have you on our team!

Daryl Clark

June 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Daryl is a reliable employee that was chosen for the exceptional care she provides for her clients. She was very diligent in monitoring/reporting her client’s status and her dedication to her client lead to her successfully keeping her in her home. After last year’s evaluation, Daryl was able to do some self-reflection and elevate her professionalism to a new level. Daryl has been a caregiver for 14 years and loves that this job gives her the opportunity to help her clients. Daryl’s future goal is to eventually take classes to become an RN. In her spare time, Daryl enjoys hanging out with her family and friends. Thank you, Daryl, we are very grateful for all your hard work!

Nakita Mills

May 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Nakita was chosen for her reliability, willingness to cover open shifts, and her phenomenal dedication to the care of her client. She worked with her coworkers to ensure that any changes in the status of her client were quickly reported and greatly contributed to her client being able to stay in her home. She has been a caregiver for a year, and her favorite thing about her job is being able to help her clients with anything they need. Nakita’s future goal is to go to nursing school to become an RN or an LPN. In her spare time, Nakita likes to cook and watch TV. Thank you, Nakita, for providing excellent care to your clients!

Cassandra Keller

April 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Cassandra was chosen for being a "voice" for her clients as she always reports pertinent information to the office. Cassandra is a very compassionate caregiver, her attendance is above reproach, and she is always appropriately and professionally dressed. Cassandra has been a caregiver for over ten years and loves making her clients happy. Cassandra’s future goal is to become an LPN, and in her spare time she loves to go kayaking, work on crafts, and read a good book. Thanks, Cassandra, for all your outstanding work and dedication to your clients. We are so happy to have you as a part of our team!

Ashley VanFleet

March 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Ashley is always early for her shift and is excellent at keeping her clients’ home tidy and clean. The client's family has repeatedly praised Ashley for the care she provides. Ashley has been a caregiver for 7 years and loves assisting her clients with anything they need. Ashley would like to continue working in home care and helping people as it makes her truly happy. During her spare time she likes to do some rock painting for a Facebook group. Thank you, Ashley, we truly appreciate your dedication to your clients!

Andrea Jenkins

February 2023 Caregiver of the Month

Andrea was chosen because she is always advocating for her clients and she goes above and beyond to make sure their environment is safe and clean. Andrea has been a caregiver for 4 years and loves enjoying a day outside with her clients when the weather is nice. She also loves to cook with her clients. Andrea would like to remain in the healthcare field and continue to make sure those she cares for are always happy and safe. In her spare time Andrea likes to relax, put on a good movie, and eat some great food! Thanks Andrea for all of your hard work! We are so grateful to have you on our team!
